Community Kindy Powells Road

Community Kindy Powells Road is a purpose built centre located in Fairview Downs, Hamilton.

We are proud of our homely learning space which encompasses children’s natural curiosity to explore and learn. We have a fantastic team of qualified, caring teachers that promote and value the concept of the tuakana-teina approach.

Our open plan room caters for children aged 2-5 years. We recognise the value of children’s play as meaningful learning and we understand that children learn through their genuine interest. Teachers actively promote and role-model the skills required for building and maintaining positive relationships. We encourage children to develop self-help skills and to ultimately achieve independence.

We promote a culturally inclusive environment with inviting spaces for children to freely explore. The spaces are inspired by the children and strongly reflect the New Zealand Bi-Cultural Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whāriki. We are a bright and bubbly centre who welcomes and values participation from family/whānau, children, teachers and the wider community.
