BestStart Westend Kindy, formerly ABC Whangarei South, provides a friendly, multicultural environment that responds to every child’s individual needs and supports positive learning outcomes for children. We are located in the Maunu area, a stones throw away from the hospital. Our centre caters for children from the age of two until they are ready for their next journey at school.

Our learning centre has an amazing hidden outdoor space that offers children the opportunity to be challenged physically in a safe and secure setting. Our special community garden supports our children to connect with nature and share offerings with others.

Our wonderful villa offers children and families a home-away-from-home feeling. Our motivated, invested team of teachers work hard to create a space where all families and children feel a sense of belonging when they walk through our doors.

Our toddler and preschool rooms

Kakano room: This is where our toddlers are supported and guided by our friendly team of teachers. Our staff pride themselves in getting to know each of our children and their unique identities. We work with parents to understand their values, so our children can flourish.

Kowhai room: This is where our 3.5 – 6-year-old children are given opportunities to practice life skills that will prepare them for their transition to school. Here you will see your child develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation skills and the ability to ask questions about the world around them.

The early years are the most important years in your child’s life. Our staff feel privileged to be part of your child’s road to discovery. We love what we do, and we continue to strive to give our very best to all our Whanau and children. We would love you to stop by and visit us.
