BestStart Stoddard Road

BestStart Stoddard Road, formerly EduKids Stoddard, is an early childcare and education centre located near the Maioro Road off-ramp. We care for children from 3 months to 5 years of age.

• We keep you in the loop on your child’s progress and day-today activities. We offer online portfolios via Storypark so families can conveniently see and contribute to their child’s learning.
• We plan our lessons based on your child’s needs. We believe that each child is unique, so teachers set up the environment and experiences to support this.  

Age specific spaces

We have four spacious classrooms which means the care and education is tailored for each age group and follows the NZ Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whaariki.

Each room has indoor and outdoor space with separate playgrounds for the infants and toddlers to cater to their learning needs. Our families love that our teachers have expertise in their chosen age groups.

Infants - The infant teachers form close, nurturing relationships with families and we follow each child’s home routine. We create a calm and loving place for our youngest children filled with cuddles and smiles. Culture is a very important part of BestStart Stoddard Road and we have many ways and experiences to help develop and celebrate cultural identity.

Toddlers - Our teachers in the toddlers room are skilled at providing a sensory rich environment where toddlers are encouraged into group play. This helps develop social skills and communication. Our toddlers have many wonderful learning experiences on a daily basis, which encourage and grow their curiosity, independence and interests.

Preschool - The transition into the preschool rooms is carefully planned to make sure your child has all the support they need to move successfully. Our preschool is split into two rooms – Preschool Rua for our 3 to 4 year old learners, and Preschool Toru for our 4 to 5 year old learners. BestStart’s unique Be School Ready initiative prepares children individually and in groups for Primary School focusing on literacy, numeracy, communication, social and self-help skills.
