BestStart Pharazyn Street (formerly Early Years Pharazyn Street) is conveniently situated across from the Melling Railway Station, with quick access to SH2, so is easily accessible to families commuting to or from Wellington City.

Investigating alongside teachers

Our team of passionate, fun teachers bring a wealth of experience in early childhood education and care. We believe the environment plays a big part in influencing children’s learning and adapt it to support their learning journeys. Our day is flexible yet consistent allowing your child to make independent decisions and choices while still offering plenty of stability.

Whanau

We pride ourselves on being a family and creating a home-like environment where children are welcomed and respected. We value parents and family as the first teachers of their children so we work in partnership with you to give the best childcare and education possible.

Community

We embrace our local community and use it to extend our children’s learning, with meaningful outings into the natural environment and our neighbouring businesses. We support the wider community, with activities such as having an annual bake sale on Daffodil Day to raise money for the Cancer Society. We celebrate many cultural events, significant to our community. Parent evenings are always fun especially when the children perform!

Our Centre

We have a lovely small area (Waka Huia – Treasure Box) for our young babies where they are nurtured and supported in a safe calm environment – catering to their individual routines.

Our Toddlers area  (Whakapuāwai – Blossoming, Flourish and Thrive) entices fun filled exploration to satisfy the natural curiosity and wonder of a toddler whilst still following their individual routines.

Somewhere between 2.5 and 3 years our children graduate through to the Young Children’s Room (Tamariki Māia – Bold, Brave and Capable children). A group of children never any bigger than 29 is encouraged to love learning and empowered to become confident active investigators.

At BestStart Pharazyn Street we provide nutritious meals that follow the Healthy Heart guidelines and can be tailored to accommodate for allergies.
