BestStart Papanui (formerly ABC Papanui) is a cosy, home away from home for our children, situated in a quiet back section on Blighs Road. We have a team of committed teachers who are passionate about creating the best possible start to every child’s learning journey. Ranked in the top early learning centres in the country by the NZ Education Review Office, you can be assured the care and education we provide is of the highest quality.

Our learning spaces - Our early learning centre is separated into two classrooms – the Nursery, catering for babies and toddlers up to two years old, and the Preschool, catering for 2 to 5 year olds.

Nursery - We are blessed to have a small, cosy nursery allowing for nine babies and toddlers. This small group means our dedicated staff get to know your baby very well and build a strong, caring rapport with your child. We provide an environment that is based around your baby’s needs and the team work closely alongside family and whānau to ensure we meet your aspirations for your baby.

Preschool - The preschool provides a fun and loving environment, where children can enjoy their preschool journey of learning and discovery. The dedicated teaching team create a learning environment that empowers our children to get involved, have a go, play, learn and have lots of fun.

Our amazing playground - We are so lucky to have a huge outdoor area with beautiful fruit trees and vege gardens. This amazing playground environment is pretty expectional and provides our children with the opportunity to extend on their own interests, challenge themselves and to have fun while they learn. Just wait until you see it, it really is impressive!

Community connections - We pride ourselves in getting out and about into our community; we visit the local schools, attend story time at the library, visit our community retirement homes and have fun trips to the park. As part of our Be School Ready initiative, we visit our local school regularly and work with other schools that our children are attending to create a smooth transition to school.
