BestStart Montessori Mosgiel (formerly Montessori Mosgiel) provides a safe, loving and understanding environment where respectful interactions and relationships are at the heart of learning. Our centre is filled with age appropriate learning toys and equipment.

BestStart Montessori Mosgiel has strong relationships with our families, working together to provide the best possible outcomes for every child. Our practices and environment reflect the aspirations and desires of our tamariki, whᾱnau and kaiako.

Our team is dedicated to the learning and well being of tamariki. We are passionate about teaching and learning. We acknowledge and respect the absorbent mind and know how to make learning enjoyable for everyone in our learning community.

At BestStart Montessori Mosgiel children learn through real life, purposeful experiences. Tamariki are independent and responsible for themselves, each other and our environment. 

Children lead their own learning journey at their own pace, with the support and guidance of our teachers. Tamariki develop learning theories and become active contributor to the community.

We cherish a planned Montessori environment and provide the tools to inspire tamariki, who actively engage with the work available to them - “The mind remembers what the hand does”.

We provide a place that supports the culture and values of tangata whenua, respect for each other and our environment underpins our practices at BestStart Montessori Mosgiel.

Our centre is the only Montessori centre in the Taieri area, we hold true the values taught by Maria Montessori to extend and develop children’s knowledge and experiences of the world around them and encourage them to be active participants in the community.
