At ABC Tauranga Central childcare centre our mission is to provide the best quality early childhood education and care for children. ERO has rated ABC Tauranga Central in the top 7% of NZ childcare centres providing positive learning outcomes for children. Your children will discover, learn and explore through a collaborative, natural and calm environment which fosters the saying, “it takes a village to raise a child”.

Our environment has a warm, home-like atmosphere where children develop a sense of belonging. Our open, fun environment encourages children to reach their full potential through learning at their own pace. We’re committed to providing quality childcare and have 5 qualified registered teachers. They’re passionate about equipping children with the skills, knowledge and dispositions to become lifelong learners.

We have a brilliant baby programme based around individual needs and routines and the children’s holistic exploration. Our Baby Room has two very experienced and passionate infant and toddler teachers committed to providing quality care to the children. Our Baby Room caters for up to 10 babies from birth to 2 years old.

The Preschool Room provides both a structured and free play environment. Children are encouraged to explore at their own pace. The quality transition to school initiative Be School Ready, is woven into curriculum areas and learning opportunities. This ensures children develop foundation skills for lifelong learning. Our environment and curriculum encourage children to participate in early literacy and numeracy activities. We have a strong relationship with St Marys – our local school – and we we hold transition visits every Friday for our 4 year olds.

At ABC Tauranga Central we understand that the community offers fantastic learning experiences for our children where we often source outside knowledge to support our children’s learning. We offer extra-curricular activities such as swimming lessons, regular excursions and events.
