ABC Rotorua Central has an amazing natural outdoor environment. It's designed to encourage children to use their motor skills and give them opportunities to explore nature, grow flowers and vegetables, search for insects and bugs, and learn to care and respect animals.

Our infant and toddler area has a wonderful calm and homely feel, where children are encouraged to develop and meet their milestones at their own pace.  Our toddlers are also given the opportunity to explore the natural environment and Montessori activities especially designed for their age and development level.

Our over 2’s area is a wonderful large space which incorporates family play, natural resources, art and craft, music, construction and we also have a Montessori based room.  Children are empowered to make their own choices.  We encourage children to respect the environment themselves and others.  We also encourage Takeina Teina, younger children learning from older children.  We look at the holistic child and develop a programme that encourages the development of physical, emotional, intellectual and social skills.   We encourage family/whanau and community participation.

kind words from our parents

Riley Family

The last 4 and a half years have flown by and Josh id ready for school. Thank you for sharing his growth, milestones and self confidence with caring and kindness. He has had outings and experiences beyond what we as a family could give him. His skills at problem solving, learning a new language, teamwork and sharing are very much appreciated.

Lisa

Today I dropped Dylan off for the first time and he had stopped crying before I even left the room. I'm so happy he is feeling settled with his daycare whanau.

Jenna, Brent, Leo and Lochie

I can not believe the time has come to say goodbye. I want to Thank you sincerely for all your individual teaching, care and love you have provided for our precious Leo over the past 4 years. Leo has grown into such an amazing little kid with great manners and so much character so Thank you for helping shape who he has become! Nikau- Thank you for all the permanent Spiderman face paint and for convincing Leo so much that he actually is a superhero, you are an incredible early childhood teacher and your love for the kids really shows and leaves a mark! Josie- Thank you for your educational story about recycling, Leo relays it perfectly to whoever will listen and when we eat our fish n chips tonight, I have no doubt he will remind us that we are actually consuming plastic! Teena - Thank you for the "Leo the brave and magnificent " affirmation! It helped his confidence immensely and truly etched into his mind! Thank you for the miniature Pomeranian cuddles. You are such a cool cool lady Teena! Renee- Thank you for all your cheerful morning hellos, your organisation (where I very much lacked) the gossip sessions and your generosity! Vanessa, well you are just sweet, with one of those pretty, smiley, genuine faces that is always so nice to see, oh and you have good taste in baby clothes Kelly- Thank you for your son Rueben who has provided Leo with a firm friendship while at ABC. Thank you for reminding us that the trivial things in life that we allow to consume us can just bugger off because being alive and having each other is all that matters. I wish you continual strength and well being xx To Leonora, Amber and Leanne Thank you for your bright hellos, taking my boy in your arms, and supporting him when he was vulnerable. Last but not least Oli- Oli you have such a beautiful mix of warmth and professionalism and have been Leo's enduring comport at daycare for so long. Leo and I will so miss you! Thank you again ABC for four brilliant years xx love Jenna, Brent , Leo and Lochie
