ABC Dannemora

ABC Dannemora is a spacious, purpose-built centre with five different rooms, each tailored to meet the needs of children at different ages and stages of learning. We have age appropriate playgrounds for each age group which allows them to learn, play and develop at their own pace.

We strongly believe that relationships with children and partnerships with parents are crucial for children’s holistic development. We nurture and encourage responsive, reciprocal and respectful relationships with children to support them to feel confident and grow up as capable, competent learners. We believe that everyone attending our centre should feel welcome and have a great sense of belonging. Our centre philosophy promotes a strong sense of belonging and whanaungatanga. We believe every child is unique, strong and beautiful and has an innate desire to learn.

We encourage children to actively participate in their own learning, so they grow up as competent, confident learners and communicators. We provide opportunities for children to feel empowered and develop their mana so they can make a valued contribution to society. We are proud to be part of a multi-cultural community which has proved beneficial to both our children and staff, enabling them to learn about, understand and respect the exciting cultural diversity within our community.

We believe the environment has the power to influence the teaching and learning that happens within, so we provide an environment that promotes respectful, responsive, reciprocal relationships and opportunities to spark the natural curiosities of children.  We aim to create a safe, inviting, challenging, and pleasing space for children, to invoke their interest, develop their dispositions, and support and empower their natural abilities so they may reach their full potential.
