EduKids Albany have had a fanatastic Matariki celebration. Our wonderful parents helped out by creating Ta Moko on the children’s faces and enjoyed our Matariki morning tea celebration where the children made traditional Maori fry bread and performed various waiata.

We have also been making our own Tipare, which are traditional headbands, and making Whakairo which is a Māori traditional art of carving in wood, stone or bone – we used clay to create our own patterns!
